Judith Rhodes Paralegal
Judi has over thirty years’ experience in the legal industry. Prior to moving to Florida, she had her own law practice in upstate New York. She is currently a registered New York State Attorney.
She relocated to Florida due to her mother’s health. Rather than practice as an attorney, she has progressed with her paralegal work.
Judi was born in Maine and moved to upstate New York when she was young. Throughout her life, she always enjoyed the legal industry and began working for an attorney in 1985. Her work was primarily in real estate and small criminal matters.
When Judi started her own family, she worked for a matrimonial attorney who encouraged her to get her degree. So, in 1995 she embarked on her legal education by first obtaining her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University. Judi graduated at the top of her class.
She then applied and was accepted to Syracuse University College of Law. In Judi’s law school years, she received the Pro Bono Service Award as the only Law Student in New York State to receive the honor for that year.
Upon graduating from law school and passing the New York State Bar, she opened her own law practice in matrimonial law.
However, family called and Judi relocated to sunny Florida in 2010.
Initially, she worked for an Elder Law Attorney in DeLand and discovered a second love of her profession.
The profound effect and satisfaction of the practice of Elder Law is both enriching and exciting to Judi. She thrives on her ability to help people achieve their goals and bring families peace of mind.
She joined the Selis Law Firm team in 2019 and enjoys the camaraderie, teamwork and dedication she feels from every one of her peers and employer. Judi’s deep-seeded belief and motto is “my handshake is my word” and she has found this same conviction within the Selis Law Firm.
Judi is also a licensed real estate agent in Flagler County since 2018. She uses her considerable knowledge, multitasking skills and experience to help ensure her clients fully understand that “planning is key to a peace of mind”. Judi is an asset to all of her clients since she provides timely contact and updates, process management, and the drafting of all legal documents.
If you need estate planning, probate, or anything, Judi is the person you turn to.
A true native of the northeast but really a beach lover at heart, Judi enjoys traveling, crafting and especially the vibrant local community neighborhood where she lives with her husband, Tracy, and their New York City adopted cat named Poo.
